HIT OR MISS?
May 12, 2005 - 16:43
Military installations across the country are on high alert status in anticipation of Friday's announced base closures. Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld is expected to make the announcements of the closures at about 8:30 am central time, and among those who are anxious to hear the news are those assigned to the Tennessee Air National Guard Base in Nashville (where we visited on Thursday). There has been some speculation that it may be on the list, but the latest rumors place us in the clear. We'll see. Meanwhile, a former spook has blogged what he claims was an early draft of the list. Here's the link for those who are watching this issue closely. CLICK HERE.

SELFISHNESS ON PARADE.
May 12, 2005 - 16:44
A teenage boy who wore a dress to the Senior prom is upset. Of course, we should all be upset that our "me-first" mentality now has a boy who sees it as HIS prom rather than a prom for his entire class. The selfishness and narcissism is out of control. This boy took the attention off his classmates and directed it at himself for purely selfish purposes. "Hey, look at me!" Unfortunately, that is becoming a hallmark of our society. The other students should be outraged, rather than supportive. It is really the same thing as the "runaway bride," the former American Idol contestant who is claiming he had a relationship with Paula Abdul, all those schmucks on Jerry Springer, and the list goes on and on. Perhaps if his parents had spent some time teaching him to be selfless rather than selfish he would have approached the Senior Prom a bit differently. He is responsible for his behavior; but they are, too. CLICK HERE.

MEXICANS FLEE LOS ANGELES IN BILLBOARD CONTROVERSY. MEXICANS FLEE LOS ANGELES IN BILLBOARD CONTROVERSY.
May 12, 2005 - 16:45
The controversial billboard in LA proclaiming the city to be part of Mexico apparently has thousands of Mexicans fleeing north in hopes of finally getting to America. Please put your tounge in your cheek before you CLICK HERE.

FORD SAYS BREDESEN IS NOT BEING TRUTHFUL.
May 12, 2005 - 16:45
Can libel actually be a verb? Anyway, the embattled Senator from Memphis got hit with a $10,000 fine by the Registry of Election Finance for funding his daughter's wedding with campaign funds yesterday, and found out that the Governor is meeting with the TBI next week to tell them what he knows.  Ford says that he NEVER talked to the Governor about getting more enrollees for his TennCare client. One of the two men is lying. Who do you think? CLICK HERE.

FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS.
May 12, 2005 - 16:46
The cozy nature of the Bredesen Administration with friends and lobbyists who benefit in tangible ways from their relationships is getting more and more attention from the mainstream media, finally. Phil Williams has the latest from the contract that the Commissioner of Tourism directed to one of her friends. CLICK HERE.

THEN SHRED THE EVIDENCE.
May 12, 2005 - 16:46
Not only does the Bredesen Administration help their friends, they are then very helpful in shredding the documents that might reveal unethical or illegal behavior. Let's see, Nixon got in trouble when 18 minutes of a tape was deleted...CLICK HERE.

TAKING NUTCASE TO A NEW LEVEL. TAKING NUTCASE TO A NEW LEVEL.
May 12, 2005 - 16:47
There is a costumed woman in NYC who spends her Friday nights trying to prevent men and women from "hooking up." It is her mission in life. She is very disturbed. And apparently pretty doggone effective. How come she never got a cameo on "Sex and the City?" CLICK HERE.

LEFTISTS CONTINUE TO ASSAULT CHRISTIANITY. LEFTISTS CONTINUE TO ASSAULT CHRISTIANITY.
May 12, 2005 - 16:48
The anti-Christian leftists may have picked a fight they can't win when they start banning Bibles during NON-academic time at school. And this is not happening on the left coast, it is happening in TENNESSEE! CLICK HERE.

YEAH IT IS MEAN, BUT IT IS ALSO FUNNY.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
