December 13, 2008 - 07:37
The White House now wants to use funds from the $700 billion financial bailout to replenish the coffers of the Big 3 automakers. But the financial bailout specified that the funds could only be used by "financial institutions", so using this money for other purposes is ILLEGAL!! Will this stop them from doing it? Probably not. DO REPUBLICAN SENATORS DESERVE THE BLAME FOR BLOCKING THE AUTO BAILOUT?
December 13, 2008 - 07:50
Not based on the numbers! Ten Republicans voted for the bailout. If the entire Democratic Party caucus had voted for the bailout it would have reached the 60 votes needed for passage. So shouldn't the unions be mad at the Democrats? CLICK HERE.

STATE OFFICIALS ARE DISTORTING THE ECONOMIC TROUBLES FACING TENNESSEE.
December 13, 2008 - 08:33
Tennessee has collected more revenue to date than the state collected last year at this point. That's right. More money than last year. But they increased PROJECTIONS of how much we would collect by a higher rate than we have achieved. So we are short of PROJECTIONS, but ahead of where we were last year. The shortfalls they are now projecting for NEXT year are based on the projected increases this year plus the projected increases next year. The state budget in 2003 was 20 BILLION DOLLARS. It is now at $27 BILLION. That is an increase in my book. CLICK HERE. |
