VW WILL INVEST $1 BILLION IN NEW PLANT IN CHATTANOOGA.
July 15, 2008 - 11:23
Big economic news for Tennessee as VW chooses the state for a new major investment. Alabama and Michigan were the other finalists who came up empty on this one. CLICK HERE. The real question is "what did we pay to get the plant?" Did we spend more taxpayer money to get the two thousand jobs than they will generate in revenue? Would lowering taxes on small business create just as many new jobs without the major infrastructure cost of attracting this particular business?

JUDGE GRANTS ONE YEAR DELAY IN KNOXVILLE MURDER TRIAL.
July 15, 2008 - 07:46
A horrific murder in Knoxville still hasn't received the media attention it deserves, and not nearly the attention it would have received had the races been reversed! CLICK HERE.

TELEVISION DOWNPLAYS RACIAL REALITIES OF CRIME.
July 15, 2008 - 08:21
Every now and then we will hear somebody like Jesse Jackson rail against the criminal justice system because so many young black men are in jail. Why doesn't he rail against the black community that produces so many crimes and criminals? CLICK HERE.

BUSH LIFTS PRESIDENTIAL BAN ON OFFSHORE DRILLING FOR OIL AND GAS.
July 15, 2008 - 07:50
The ONLY roadblock to lower gas prices is now the Democrats in Congress! Let them know how you feel about high gas prices and their inaction TODAY! CLICK HERE.

MCLAUGHLIN TAKES HEAT FOR "OREO" COMMENT.
July 15, 2008 - 07:53
He said it, but how many folks in the black community were already thinking it??? Remember all those questions about whether Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are "black" enough? And weren't some of those same questions raised about Barack early on? CLICK HERE. By the way, I love Oreos almost as much as I love Devil's Food Cake! And where was this media concern with black Republican Michael Steele was being pelted with Oreos during his Maryland Senate campaign by democratic party activists??? CLICK HERE.

HAS BARACK OBAMA EVER ACTUALLY DONE ANYTHING?
July 15, 2008 - 08:06
It is increasingly clear that the answer is "no," but don't expect the mainstream media to focus on the complete absence of credentials by a man who is also lacking in character. CLICK HERE.

I GUESS THIS IS WHY LAURA'S SHOW DIDN'T LAST LONG.
July 15, 2008 - 10:57
I didn't even know her show had been cancelled already. I guess this video is a pretty good reason why. CLICK HERE. Supposedly her Fox show was only supposed to last 2-3 weeks, but why would they do it if the didn't intend to KEEP doing it?

STARBUCKS DETAILS LIST OF FIRST 50 STORES TO CLOSE.
July 15, 2008 - 11:32
Starbucks plans to close up to 600 stores nationally as part of a reduction plan in response to a slowing economy. The list of the first 50 is now up and Tennessee is unscathed...so far. CLICK HERE.

MCCAIN CONTINUES TO SUCK UP TO THE OPEN BORDERS CROWD!
July 15, 2008 - 07:57
I STILL won't vote for him because he STILL doesn't think securing our borders and enforcing our laws is more important than political pandering. Plus he has lied about "seeing the light" on this important issue. He is still blind as a bat on illegal immigration, and you can't be serious about national security when you are leaving the doors unlocked! CLICK HERE.

REPUBLICANS HAVE THE FUNDRAISING LEAD IN KEY STATE SENATE RACES.
July 15, 2008 - 07:59
If Ron Ramsey wants to keep being Lt. Governor, he needs to make sure that he has the votes to win again. So far the money is lining up the right way for him. CLICK HERE.

STATE TAX REVENUES CONTINUE TO FALTER.
July 15, 2008 - 08:01
Collections are down...again. But don't worry, the Bredesen Party Bunker will still be built! CLICK HERE.
State tax revenues head farther south | Dave Goetz, tax collections, sales tax, business tax, cigarette tax

WIMPIFICATION OF BRITAIN IS NEAR COMPLETION.
July 15, 2008 - 08:46
Our British cousins have become such utter weasels that it is really hard to distinguish them from the French anymore. Now they are banning three-legged races at schools because the children might fall. CLICK HERE. Yep, it is just too brutal for the Brits. Now this story is a bit confusing, and I was among those initially confused, because it is John F. Kennedy Primary School in Washington that eliminated these "dangerous" activities. But it actually is in ENGLAND rather than the U.S.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
