FORD PROMISES TO TERM LIMIT HIMSELF.
October 16, 2006 - 11:18
Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. pledged to follow the lead of Senator Bill Frist and serve no more than two terms in the U.S. Senate if he is elected to fill the seat being vacated by Senator Frist. Ford made the promise while appearing on the Steve Gill Show Monday morning.

“I’ll make you an even better promise…if we have not made progress on energy freedom, not made progress on the war on terrorism, not made progress on immigration reform, on lowering taxes…I won’t run again [for a second term].” --  Harold Ford, Jr., October 16, 2006.

IS TENNESSEAN'S FORD ENDORSEMENT TINGED WITH RACISM?
October 16, 2006 - 07:19
No big surprise, but the Nashville Tennessean newspaper endorsed Democrat nominee Harold Ford, Jr. for the U.S. Senate. However, the paper refers to the election of Ford as giving Tennesseans a chance to "make a statement to the nation." Tennessee has elected Democrats before, so that is not "making a statement." Tennessee has elected young men before, so that is not "making a statement." Hmmm, could they be referring to the fact that Ford is BLACK as a reason to vote for him? That he would be the first black elected to the U.S. Senate from the South since Reconstruction? Is that the "statement" they are referring to without directly invoking the race card? Isn't urging people to vote for or against someone because of their skin color racist? If Bob Corker's supporters were urging people to vote for him, or against Ford, on the basis of skin color the Tennessean would be the first to scream "foul." But here we have the liberal and tolerant Tennessean urging a vote in the race for the U.S. Senate based on race! Ford should reject the endorsement, unless or until they rewrite it and apologize to all Tennesseans. CLICK HERE.

I ADMIT THAT I HAVE A HARD TIME SEEING HOW LOSING CAN BE A WIN.
October 16, 2006 - 15:49
I agree with those who don't want to reward the current Republican Party leadership in Washington for their ineptitude on illegal immigration, controlling spending and communicating what Republicans stand for. But I really don't see how it punishes them to punish America with rewarding the Democrat Left Wing with a victory. CLICK HERE.

HARRY REID'S SMELLY LAND DEAL DOESN'T GET MUCH MEDIA ATTENTION.
October 16, 2006 - 07:33
If Harold Ford, Jr. gets elected to the U.S. Senate will he vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader? Ford and his campaign are upset over Bob Corker allegedly making money in some real estate deals in Chattanooga that are not nearly as questionable as what Reid has done. Is Ford upset because Corker is a Republican, or will he apply the same outrage to Reid's million dollar land deal? CLICK HERE.

TITANS FINALLY GET A VICTORY!!
October 16, 2006 - 07:42
It has been a long time, but the Tennessee Titans finally got to take a victory lap after knocking off the Washington Redskins 25-22! The fact that it was a road win made the victory even sweeter. The Titans have a lot of young talent that looks to be coming together, so the future (now not so distant) may be bright. CLICK HERE.

MICHAEL BARONE DOES NOT SEE MAJOR POLITICAL REALIGNMENT IN THE CARDS.
October 16, 2006 - 07:46
Political pundits are increasingly softening their predictions for Democrat gains in the U.S. House and Senate on November 7. At this point, look for Republicans to maintain a narrow (52-47-1) margin of control in the Senate; and a three seat margin in the House. If the Democrats cannot win control in THIS environment, when will they win? CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
