There are about 1.3 billion Chinese. That's 1.3 BILLION. That's a lot of people. And more and more of them are starting to purchase cars as the Chinese economy grows. They are the second largest auto market in the world, just a bit behind the U.S., in terms of annual auto sales. Soon they will be number one. As their use of gasoline and other oil products grows, supply must keep pace or prices will go up. A lot. We cannot conserve our way to lower prices when there are a billion more of them than us. We need to find other sources of power and energy, and we need to use what we have in terms of supply to lower the prices in the meantime. This is really not a challenging issue in terms of economics and what needs to be done; it is simply a matter of will, and whether the American people are more important than pleasing environmental crazies who have a radical political agenda. The Democrats have chosen the crazies as their priority.
