SENATE HOPEFULS ON PARADE.
February 18, 2005 - 15:49
The four candidates for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate (three declared, one soon to be) made their case at the President's Day Dinner in Williamson County last night. Beth Harwell, Van Hilleary, Ed Bryant and Bob Corker all spoke to the 500 or so in attendance and then awaited the results of a straw poll. The results:

Harwell      31 votes
Hilleary      48 votes
Corker       51 votes
Bryant       73 votes

It is still a long way to August, 2006 when the  primary votes will be cast, but it does provide an interesting snapshot of where things are starting.

DEMS REALLY ARE THE PARTY OF TERRORISTS. DEMS REALLY ARE THE PARTY OF TERRORISTS.
February 18, 2005 - 15:50
Or at least their lawyers. Lynn Stewart, the leftist lawyer convicted of aiding and abetting her terrorist client, is a registered Democrat. Howard Dean pitched a fit earlier this week when a republican referred to the Democrats as "the party of...Lynn Stewart." Now, at least, Dean knows the statement is accurate, even if he dislikes it. COOKIE GIRLS UPDATE
February 18, 2005 - 18:08
The nitwit neighbor of the Durango, CO cookie girls claims she has been the "victim." Riiight. She deserves almost everything she has received. The threats are too much, but everything else looks pretty reasonable to me. CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
