TIME REVEALS GOP "SECRET WEAPON" FOR NOVEMBER ELECTIONS.
October 1, 2006 - 10:30
An extensive GOTV ("get out the vote") effort that the Republican Party has planned in the final three days of the 2006 elections is the "secret weapon" that Time breathlessly reports in its new edition. Since this plan has been discussed in the media over the past several weeks, it isn't really all that "secret" is it? Nor anything really unusual. CLICK HERE. |

NEW POLL SHOWS CORKER AND FORD IN DEAD HEAT.
October 1, 2006 - 20:25
The Tennessee race for the U.S. Senate is hotter than ever, and it couldn't be tighter according to a new Mason Dixon poll. Ford definitely has a swagger in his step and exudes confidence. Corker looks tight. In business, sports, and certainly in politics, attitude tells a lot. You really cannot fake confidence, and Ford seems to have more of it right now than Corker. Things can change, and the final five weeks of a campaign are a lifetime. But Corker better make some significant strategic moves quickly, or he will be on the outside looking in come November 8. CLICK HERE.
The detailed poll information reveals some interesting things. Corker has a big lead among men, but the results are almost exactly reversed among women. Ford enjoys support from 88% of Democrats respondents; Corker only gets support from 76% of Republican respondents. If Corker were getting the same level of support from Republicans as Ford is getting from Democrats he would have a comfortable lead. Most of those undecided Republicans are likely to "come home" at the end of the day, so Corker is in better shape than the poll indicates. However, the poll also "over-polls" Republicans, so Ford also has reason to think his numbers may be slightly better than the final poll numbers indicate. Bottom line? The race is close and either candidate can still win or lose this thing. CLICK HERE. |

COWBOYS STAMPEDE PAST TITANS.
October 1, 2006 - 18:14
Someday, if Vince Young becomes the franchise quarterback and perhaps Hall of Famer that Titans fan hope he will become, the team Vince faced in his first start may be a great trivia question. Today it was anything but a trivial defeat as the Titans were dusted 45-14. Albert Haynesworth was lucky, he didn't have to watch the whole game. CLICK HERE. |
