The tough economy is making it hard for women like Angelica Hernandez and her mother Gloria Nunez to make it. They are even struggling to buy food, according to NPR. Not to be mean, but I am just a bit skeptical about that part about them having a hard time getting enough to eat. It is sure a good thing that most NPR folks will just LISTEN to the story rather than look at the picture of the women that are a focal point of the story. CLICK HERE. Be sure to read the story that NPR did. The mother, who is 40 has NEVER worked, but been on the taxpayer dime her WHOLE LIFE! The daughter is on the same track. Patrick and I slipped into a theater and caught the new Batman flick on Friday. It is spectacular! As many reviews have noted, it is dark and dangerous...just like Batman. Heath Ledger completely owns the Joker!! Sorry Jack Nicholson. (But Jack still has the edge on Cesar Romero when it comes to playing the Joker.)

Do not take young children to this movie, because it is pretty tough in some spots. Oh, and Christian Bale also owns the Batman role as he is, by far, the best Batman actor ever.

Since it was supposed to be a "summer" thing the fact that summer is rapidly fading into the rear view mirror was probably our first clue that we weren't going to get any break at the pump from the Congress.
