POLL SHOWS LITTLE SUPPORT FOR CONGRESSIONAL INTERFERENCE IN SCHIAVO CASE.
March 21, 2005 - 20:57
An overwhelming number of Americans do not support what Congress has done in the Schiavo case. Most believe that the politicans are pandering for votes rather than acting out of principle. Based upon these numbers we may see some of those politicans backpeddling pretty quickly in the next week. CLICK HERE. |

JUDGE IN SCHIAVO CASE GETTING DEATH THREATS.
March 21, 2005 - 15:59
The judge in the Schiavo case has to be protected from potential violence at the hands of those who claim to be committed to life. And during today's show I received a couple of "death threats" from supporters of "life." Ironic, isn't it? Some have asked whether I feel uncomfortable siding with Barney Frank on this issue. Absolutely. But I would be even more uncomfortable on the side of supposed "pro life" activists who threaten to kill in the name of life. If that doesn't bother you, shouldn't it?
The Schiavo family (her parents the Schindlers, primarily) seem to ignore a lot of facts on their website: a trial on the issue of her congnitive ability was held in 2000; she was retested and the court heard additional evidence from several physicians in 2002. The claims that she is "responsive" is simply not supported by the facts that have repeatedly been presented to the court. Most of those who are commenting on this case rely only on the parents' website for their information. I have read the court documents, which contradict much of what the Shiavo's website contends. Even the doctors hired by the family acknowledge that Terri Schiavo is brain damaged to the point that she cannot swallow. Yet her family contends she can talk? If I was trying to save the life of one of my sons I would lie if necessary; so why do so many of us accept everything the Schiavo's say as gospel, even when the facts and evidence contradict them time and time again? Are you aware that in addition to Michael Schiavo's testimony about his wife's wishes the court also heard sworn testimony from her Stepbrother and best friend that confirmed, under oath, what Michael claimed? Are you aware that her father has admitted to being very angry with Michael that he got money from her malpractice case but that the parents did not get any money? (The fact that they may also have a monetary interest in this case and any subsequent book deals tends to color their advocacy somewhat, doesn't it?) In any event, there are a lot of facts that are being obscured or lied about by Terri's parents. Shouldn't we base our opinions on this case on the FACTS rather than being hyped into an emotional frenzy by people who have an agenda? This is a sad case, but the lack of honesty among those who are talking endlessly about it is even more disturbing. CLICK HERE. |

SHOULD CONGRESS PASS LAWS FOR SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS?
March 21, 2005 - 15:59
Regardless of your opinion of what should happen in the Schiavo case, do we really want to start the process of Congress passing laws for the benefit of specific individuals? This is political grandstanding at its worst in my view. If they can pass a law to help a specific individual, can't they pass one that targets a specific individual for harm??? I didn't agree with the result in the OJ Simpson criminal trial, but I don't think Congress should vote to put a "hit" out on him, either. CLICK HERE. |

TENNCARE INCREASES PAYMENTS TO FIRM THAT HAS NOT DONE ITS JOB.
March 21, 2005 - 16:05
Yeah, lets reward the company that has not properly monitored TennCare's pharmacy distribution system with a higher paying contract. Where are all the leftists who are so concerned with Haliburton? This is so much worse, and Governor Phil Bredesen's fingerprints are all over this. CLICK HERE |

MILLIONS STAYED AWAY.
March 21, 2005 - 16:05
About a hundred peace protesters turned out Saturday to express their outrage over freedom and democracy coming to Iraq. They apparently long for the good old days when Sadaam and his sons tortured and murdered Iraqis at will, supported world wide terrorism, funded terrorism, served as a haven for terrorism, and continued to flaunt the international community and the United Nations. The hundred or so nitwits who showed up are not the real story; the fact that millions of middle Tennesseans did NOT turn out for the "peace" rally shows how marginalized these leftist cranks actually are.
