CHRISTMASCARDGATE CONTINUES.
December 22, 2006 - 07:34
It really didn't seem like much of a story at first. The Governor of Tennessee sends out a Christmas card that depicts a Muslim girl he met during a visit to Afghanistan this year. I noted that it was very odd that the Governor would make that particular painting the object of his card, and joked about the resemblance of the young girl to Dr. Evil in Austin Powers, due to her little finger stuck in the side of her mouth. Then somebody noted the amazing similarities between the Governor's painting and a famous 1985 cover of National Geographic, and the story got a few more days of talk. Then the mainstream media, television and newspapers, across the state jumped in on the story. Now, it appears that the Governor's office cannot produce a photo of the girl the Governor supposedly met. Now I know it is a slow news week, with Christmas coming and all, but if the Governor cannot produce a photo, doesn't this story raise bigger issues about his credibility than it does about his choices of Christmas cards? And the arrogance of the Governor's staff in claiming that "his word should be good enough" underscores the real problem here. CLICK HERE.

I THOUGHT DEMOCRATS WERE GOING TO CLEAN UP THE CULTURE OF CORRUPTION?
December 22, 2006 - 10:06
Obviously, the Democrats who promised to "clean up politics" in their fall campaign ads were not serious. Why else do we have William Jefferson winning in Louisiana and Democrats banding together to re-elect a convicted felon in Florida? CLICK HERE. |

VIRGINIA DMV TELLS PRANKSTERS TO GET NEW PHOTOS.
December 22, 2006 - 07:50
Two guys filming a documentary (CLICK HERE) on how easy it is to get false documents had their drivers' license photos taken while wearing disguises. The DMV doesn't think it is funny, and has ordered them to retake the photos without wearing any disguises. Shouldn't the DMV be more concerned that their staff didn't see through these ridiculous disguises? CLICK HERE.

THE DENVER STANDSTILL.
December 22, 2006 - 08:33
A blizzard in Denver shut down airline travel around the country as we head into the Christmas weekend. Why didn't the airlines think about their customers during this process? 5000 stuck at an airport! This is EXACTLY why they are going out of business. Except of course for folks like Southwest Airlines who make customer service priority ONE! CLICK HERE.
