DOUBLE STANDARD UPDATE FROM THE BREDESEN ADMINISTRATION.
July 27, 2005 - 09:48
Remember a few weeks ago when Governor Bredesen brought McDonalds burgers to the TennCare protesters in the Capitol? Well, now the State of Tennessee is going to enforce a restriction against bringing in outside food to keep supporters of the protesters from bringing them food and drink. Another inconsistency from an Administration that is becoming famous for "do as we say, not as we do" policies. CLICK HERE.

CAFTA VOTE MAY COME TODAY.
July 27, 2005 - 09:48
A trade agreement with Central America could come up for a vote as early as TODAY. It will be a close vote, in large part because Democrats refuse to help pass it. Contrast that with the Republican votes for NAFTA a decade ago, when a no vote could have hurt the economy and a Democrat President. Republicans have a disturbing willingness to put what they believe is good for their country ahead of their party, something that the Dems never seem to do. CLICK HERE.

WATERMELON EATING CONTEST SPARKS CONTROVERSY IN MIAMI.
July 27, 2005 - 09:49
But the weird thing is that it was being thrown by leaders of the black community. CLICK HERE.

ALABAMACHUSETTS. ALABAMACHUSETTS.
July 27, 2005 - 09:50
Road signs tend to be a bit confusing anywhere you are. But in Easthampton, Massachusetts nobody seemed to notice that the signs for Routes 10 and 141 were inside an outline of the State of Alabama. Apparently, locals were tipped off by the fact that everybody was suddenly drinking sweet tea and saying "ya'll" a lot. CLICK HERE.

SOUNDS LIKE REGULAR MARRIAGE.
July 27, 2005 - 09:50
The Church of England is set to authorize gay clergy to marry, as long as they promise to abstain from sex. Too many jokes, too little time. CLICK HERE.

MEANWHILE IN NEBRASKA
July 27, 2005 - 09:51
A Nebraska man is being prosecuted for having consensual sex, with his wife! OK, she is only 14, and he is 22, but they got married with the consent of her parents. The really weird thing in the story is the fact that 14 year old boys and 12 year old girls can marry in Kansas.  CLICK HERE.

PUSHING WHILE INTOXICATED?
July 27, 2005 - 09:51
Indiana police arrested two women pushing a broken down car down the road, taking turns behind the wheel, on DWI charges. CLICK HERE.

CLINTON PARDONED SECURITY LEAKER.
July 27, 2005 - 09:52
With the Clinton track record on National Security, from pardoning leakers to having an NSA Advisor Sandy Berger caught stuffing secret documents in his socks and underwear, it is no wonder that Hillary is being so quiet about the whole Rove controversy. CLICK HERE.

GULP!
July 27, 2005 - 09:53
A sculpture on display in England, featuring melted ice from Antarctica, is missing. Apparently, one of the patrons drank it. Maybe it was "performance art." CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
