FRIST IS HAVING SOME POLLING PROBLEMS.
August 27, 2006 - 17:49
A new online poll of Republican voters has Tennessee Senator Bill Frist way, way behind some of his most likely competitors for the presidency in 2008. In fact, more voters in the online poll find him "unacceptable" than "acceptable". He even ranked behind Senator Sam Brownback in terms of "first choice" votes. You can vote HERE.

ERNESTO BEARS DOWN ON CUBA.
August 27, 2006 - 09:48

Wednesday and Thursday the Gill Team is scheduled to travel to Cuba for a visit to Club Gitmo. Looks like we will not only see terrorists in custody but also get a glimpse of post-Ernesto damage.

KIDNAPPED FOX JOURNALISTS FREED.
August 27, 2006 - 09:52

Fox News journalists Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig are free! CLICK HERE.

They were forced to convert to the "peaceful and tolerant" religion of Islam at gunpoint before they were freed by the "peaceful and tolerant" Muslims who had kidnapped them and threatened to kill them. Now that they are "Muslim", should Centanni and Wiig be profiled before we let them fly on domestic U.S. flights? CLICK HERE.

COOPER URGED TO RESIGN FROM CHAIRMANSHIP.
August 27, 2006 - 10:05
Should Senator Jerry Cooper resign from his State Senate committee chairmanship, or make a case to keep it? CLICK HERE.

NO ROOM FOR MODERATES IN THE MODERN DEMOCRAT PARTY.
August 27, 2006 - 10:13
Do southern conservative Democrats have a place in their national party? If Lieberman is too conservative for the Democrats, then how can folks like Lincoln Davis or John Tanner possibly have a place amidst the liberal extremists that have taken over the Democrat Party? CLICK HERE.

CORKER AND FORD FIGHT OVER RELEASE OF TAX RETURNS.
August 27, 2006 - 10:22
U.S. Senate hopefuls Bob Corker and Harold Ford, Jr. cannot agree on much, not even when it comes to how much information should be released to the public when it comes to their income tax returns. Corker should have released his full returns during the primary; whatever he is hiding will eventually come out, and it must be bad or he would not be so secretive about it. CLICK HERE.

SHELBY COUNTY POPULATION SHIFTS AS WHITES LEAVE IN DROVES.
August 27, 2006 - 10:37
The white population in Shelby County is decreasing dramatically while the black and hispanic population is increasing. In just the past 5 years the number of whites living in Memphis/Shelby County has declined by 8.5%. Meanwhile the black and hispanic populations have increased by 4.7% and 31%, respectively. The economic woes for Memphis will intensify as it is also apparent that middle class families of all races are increasingly moving from Memphis to the suburbs. CLICK HERE.

CORKER WORKS TO SOLIDIFY CONSERVATIVE BASE.
August 27, 2006 - 11:12
The bitter Republican U.S. Senate primary left many conservatives unhappy with the nomination of Bob Corker. He is working hard to repair the damage done during the primary, but convincing conservatives that his commercials reflect his true feelings will not be easy. CLICK HERE.

COMAIR JET CRASHES IN KENTUCKY.
August 27, 2006 - 17:09

A Delta Airlines owned jet crashed on takeoff near Lexington killing nearly all aboard. The plane apparently took off on the wrong runway, which was too short for a safe takeoff. CLICK HERE.

DID GOVERNOR'S PILOT FILE A FALSE FLIGHT PLAN TO EVADE THE MEDIA?
August 27, 2006 - 17:15

It appears that the Governor's flight back to Nashville from the Mayo Clinic was intended to be top secret. So secret that the pilot filed a flight plan to Bowling Green, Kentucky rather than Nashville in order to throw reporters off the trail. Is filing a false flight plan the sort of thing that can, and should, cost a pilot his license? CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
