HILLEARY WINS STRAW POLL.
February 28, 2006 - 11:59 Saturday night I was the keynote speaker at the Bledsoe County Lincoln Day Dinner in Pikeville. There were well over 200 people in attendance, and Rep. Eric Swafford did a great job emceeing the event. There was also a "straw poll" of attendees and Ruben Watkins, the County Chairman has provided us with the results in the category of the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate:
Van Hilleary 59% (104 votes)
Bob Corker 28% (51 votes)
Ed Bryant 12% (21 votes)
The votes that matter, of course, will be the ones cast in August.
