METRO TEACHER SALARY SCHEDULE.
June 29, 2005 - 13:06
We talked a bit this morning about the metro teacher salary schedule, and a teacher forwarded a link to the actual numbers. The actual "cost" of a teacher to taxpayers is pretty close to the $60,000 plus average I was estimating when you add in retirement, social security, health care benefits, etc. Plus keep in mind that this is for a 10 month annual work schedule. Teachers easily rank in the top third of income earners in the country. Look at the numbers, compare them to what you earn and how many months a year you work, and decide who you think is underpaid. June 29, 2005 - 13:07
In a prime time address to the nation, the President asked the American people for patience in dealing with the hard work to come in Iraq. CLICK HERE.

ILLEGALS OBTAIN HAZARDOUS MATERIALS LICENSES.
June 29, 2005 - 13:07
OK, we can't, or won't, keep illegals from coming into our country. As we learned a week or so ago, we can't, or won't, keep them from gaining access to nuclear weapons facilities like the plant in Oak Ridge where 16 illegal aliens were found working on the construction team. And now, we can't, or won't, keep illegals from getting licenses to transport hazardous materials, like gasoline in tanker trucks. When one of these illegals turns out to be a terrorist who kills thousands of Americans, perhaps the President and the Congress will finally wake up to what is happening in this country. Of course, that will be a little late for the thousands who will have been killed as a result of their inaction. CLICK HERE.

June 29, 2005 - 13:08
Supreme Court Justice David Souter wrote the opinion authorizing local governments to take personal property for private use. Now he may see the Kelo opinion used to take his own home. Think his opinion may change? CLICK HERE.

DID WHITE HOUSE COVER UP IMMIGRATION SURVEY RESULTS?
June 29, 2005 - 13:08
Congressman Tom Tancredo says the White House discontinued a survey seeking to determine the sources of illegal immigration after results showed that the Bush "amnesty plan" was increasing the flood of illegal aliens. Now this is a congressional investigation that makes sense. The American people deserve to know the truth, and perhaps the Bush Administration needs to know it too. CLICK HERE.

LIVING LARGE AT GITMO.
June 29, 2005 - 13:09
A new book will lay out the gourmet recipes being served to the detainees at the Guantanamo Bay detention center. Are you aware that most of the detainees that have been released have GAINED 14 pounds while being treated to the "harsh" conditions at the prison? Compare that with the photos of U.S. POWs after their time in Viet Cong prison camps. CLICK HERE.

DEM SENATORS FIND NO ABUSES AT GITMO. SURPRISED?
June 29, 2005 - 13:10
Don't expect this story to get much play in the media, but U.S. Senators who toured the detention facility for terrorists at Guantanamo Bay did not find any indication that our soldiers are abusing the detainees. It should be apology time from the left. Don't hold your breath. CLICK HERE.

DO WE REALLY KNOW OUR HISTORY?
June 29, 2005 - 13:10
Americans are basically historically ignorant. We know more about reality show stars than our Founding Fathers. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history, are doomed to repeat them. CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
