California is roughly the same size as Iraq. In 2004, according to a new report on Crime In California from the California Attorney General, there were 2,394 reported homicides in the state. In Iraq, coalition forces suffered 905 deaths. In other words, more than twice as many men and women were murdered in California as were lost in Iraq.
