BREDESEN RECOLLECTION GETS CLOUDY. BREDESEN RECOLLECTION GETS CLOUDY.
June 2, 2005 - 09:10
Initially, Governor Phil Bredesen said nothing when news of Senator John Ford's "consulting" deals with TennCare companies came to light. Then he waited a few months before he disclosed that Ford asked him for help in getting more enrollees for his "client" a long time ago ( in 2003). Then it was discovered that Ford's request for more enrollees for OmniCare had been granted about the time the request to the Governor had been made. Now, the Governor is hedging on whether or not he helped Ford get more enrollees for OmniCare. The Governor can't "recall" helping Ford, but he also does not feel comfortable issuing a complete denial.  What a tangled web. The Tennessean is on top of this story. CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
