FRIST FINED $11,000 FOR VIOLATING CAMPAIGN LAWS.
June 2, 2006 - 07:00
Senator Frist is having to shell out $11,000 as a penalty for failing to report a $1.44 million loan to his campaign fund in 2000. As part of his continued effort to pander to the illegal alien vote, Senator Frist plans to pay off the fine in pesos. CLICK HERE. |

ED BRYANT TAKES IT TO THE BORDER.
June 2, 2006 - 07:00
No, he didn't go to Taco Bell, he went to the U.S.-Mexico border to help build some fencing to keep illegals out. Of course, most of the illegals actually come in through our airports with valid visas and then just never leave. But a photo op at the Nashville Airport wouldn't attract much attention. My advice to Van Hilleary is to do a photo op at Dunkin' Donuts today. CLICK HERE. |

TAX LOOPHOLE COULD DOOM SENATE AMNESTY PLAN.
June 2, 2006 - 07:01
The "shamnesty" plan that passed in the U.S. Senate may fail because of the tax provisions in that plan. It turns out that tax legislation must originate in the House. The Constitution requires it. Will the Senate ignore the Contsitution...again? Apparently so. Democrat Senator Harry "Get Me Some Boxing Tix" Reid says it is just a "technicality." Yeah, that Constitution is just a minor technicality to democrats when it comes to having their way with America. CLICK HERE. |

GLASS BAN AT SCOTTISH PUBS?
June 2, 2006 - 07:04
If the Scottish government gets it way, pubs will be serving beer in plastic cups. Seems that they have seen too many fights involving broken beer bottles in recent years and feel a glass ban is the answer. Do plastic cups even come in pint size? CLICK HERE.

CHRISTIAN RADIO STATION RUNS DISCLAIMER ADS TO COUNTER CORKER COMMERCIALS.
June 2, 2006 - 07:05
A lot of politicians play fast and loose with the facts with their campaign commercials on television and radio. Now a Memphis Christian radio station is actually airing a disclaimer to the ads being purchased on their station by Bob Corker. This might be a good trend, if the disclaimers are more accurate than the ads. One of the major problems in political adversitising is the fact that you can lie in political commercials while you cannot do the same thing when you advertise products. Shouldn't the same truth in advertising rules apply to politics? If I can't lie about toilet paper when I am selling it, why should I be able to lie about my opponent or my own record when I am selling my political candidacy? But beware, the mainstream media has not been particularly fair in the past, and I doubt that any disclaimers they issue would be any better than their coverage.
Frankly, I prefer to have the candidates on the show to set the record straight themselves; that's why we have issued an invitation to all three Republican Senate candidates for a June 6 debate on Steve Gill Mornings from 7-9 am. The primary focus of the discussion will be taxes and tax reform policy. Van Hilleary and Ed Bryant have already accepted the invitation and will appear; Bob Corker is still deciding whether or not to attend. CLICK HERE. |
