CLINTON SAYS AMERICANS ARE TOO STINGY WITH FOREIGN AID.
July 2, 2005 - 14:52
Former President Bill Clinton says that Americans think we give more for foreign aid than we really do; and that we really aren't doing our share. This really ought to help Hillary. I would suggest that the billions in dollars and the thousands of lives that have been given around the world in the past year by soldiers providing freedom and democracy in Afghanistan, Iraq and other hot spots around the world more than makes up for any economic deficiency the former President sees. What do you think? Interestingly, Clinton does not count the CHARITABLE contributions made by Americans around the world. He only counts what the Government gives from what it takes from us, not what we give directly. Typical left-winger, only the Government is "good." CLICK HERE.

BREDESEN APPOINTS ETHICS COMMISSION.
July 2, 2005 - 14:53
At first glance the ethics commission appointed by Governor Phil Bredesen looks pretty good. It is the second glance that reveals some problems: no regular Joe Public made the list, and some of those who made it may need to answer some ethics questions themselves. Kelley Beaman, who heads up the Tennessee Institute of Government Ethics Reform (TIGER), did not get appointed despite the fact that her group was talking about ethics reform long before Governor Bredesen showed any interest in the issue at all. Why wasn't she picked? Could it be her Republican credentials? Also, a former Tennessee Supreme Court justice made the list. But didn't he serve on the Supremes when the Governor's office and legislative leaders became convinced that the Supreme Court would overturn several prior rulings finding an income tax unconstitutional? What did they know and how did they know it? Did he or another justice whisper that to the Governor, Naifeh, Wilder or others that the Supremes were ready to reverse prior opinions? All of the Supremes are suspect, including Lyle Reed. Based upon the ethics of the last Commission appointed by a Tennessee Governor, the Tax Study Commission, should we really have any faith in this one? CLICK HERE.

PROTESTS INSIDE CAPITOL CONTINUE.
July 2, 2005 - 14:53
At a cost of $2000 a day, protesters continue to occupy the state capitol with impunity. It has been nearly two weeks. Can you imagine what would have happened if tax protesters had staked a claim to live in the Capitol during the income tax protests. Wait a minute, maybe we should join them next week and ask the Governor to let us know exactly what he intends to do with an income tax if he gets a second term. It wouldn't cost any more for the State Troopers to watch half a dozen more TAX protesters would it? CLICK HERE.

BLACK MAN MAY BE PROSECUTED FOR HATE CRIME.
July 2, 2005 - 14:55
Don't get excited. The prosecutor says he "may" prosecute the murder of a white secretary by a black guy who had said he wanted to kill a "white woman" as a hate crime. May. That means it is possible. Note the hesitancy. CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
