IS TORTURE APPROPRIATE TO SAVE LIVES?

If a nuclear bomb was ticking in Nashville, and police had a man in custody who knew where it was, would it be "right" to torture him to get him to tell the location of the bomb before it went off? The torture would not be used to get information to prosecute him, simply to prevent the horrific crime from occurring. If the bomb went off and you later found out that it could have been prevented by forcing the man to talk, would you be furious at your government for letting people die who could have been saved? Should the "harsh" tactics of our enemies free us to use similar tactics to stop them? CLICK HERE.

DO MOTORCYCLE HELMETS KILL PEOPLE?

One of our callers today asserted that wearing motorcycle helmets creates more risk than going unprotected. Riiiight. Here are some stats that might be helpful, except for those who have apparently already suffered major brain trauma. Like I said this morning, if you want to kill yourself, or get brain damaged, riding a motorcycle without a helmet go ahead and knock yourself out, so to speak. Just don't expect me to pay the bills.
