KETRON AND BLACK LEAD EFFORT TO RECALL LEGISLATION.
April 4, 2006 - 08:51
Republicans in the State Senate, who shamed themselves last week by voting with the Democrats to unanimously ban citizens from speaking their mind near the State Capitol if House Speaker Naifeh and Lt. Governor Wilder don't like what we have to say, are working to reverse course. Thanks guys. That First Amendment is a pesky thing, but it is pretty doggone important, particularly when you don't want Democrats like Naifeh and Wilder abusing their power to shove an un-Constitutional income tax down the throats of taxpayers. CLICK HERE.
Some legislators say they had no knowledge that the legislation inluded "sidewalks" within the authority given to the House Speaker and Lt. Governor. The bill makes it clear that "sidewalks" are covered, but it was not distributed to many legislators before they voted. If taxpayers are honking horns in protest, doesn't this bill allow the House Speaker to block he roads around the Capitol to "quiet things down?" Isn't that what they are really seeking to do? Why would the Republicans let them do this? And doesn't the Tennessee Highway Patrol already have the authority to address traffic violations like those committed by the wheelchair protesters two weeks ago? Why do they need the approval of the Speaker and Lt. Governor to do their jobs? Most importantly, how could something this utterly stupid pass...unanimously!?!?!?!?!? CLICK HERE. |

DO THE RIGHT THING!
April 4, 2006 - 08:55
At least that is the lesson being conveyed to students at one school in Indiana. A student who realized he had a pocket knife in the pocket of his jacket immediately went to the principal's office and turned it in. As a result, the student (who was an excellent student and had never been in trouble) was suspended for 10 days and is facing possible expulsion from school - the maximum penalties for bringing a weapon to school. If he had kept the knife hidden, he would have received no punishment. If he had tried to keep the knife hidden and been caught, he would have received the exact same punishment he currently faces. In other words, doing the right thing was the wrong thing according to the brilliant principal at the school. How do such utter nitwits end up in charge of our children? CLICK HERE. |
