RATHER GRACELESS EXIT.
March 8, 2005 - 09:53
Walter Cronkite says it is a farewell that has been too long in coming. We'll have a "rather" interesting free for all about the retiring newsman tomorrow morning. CLICK HERE.

HOMEWARD BOUND.
March 8, 2005 - 09:54
OK, I've subjected you to Bill Bennett long enough. I'll be back in the saddle Wednesday morning. Any ski trip you can limp away from is a successful one, right??? I WILL have some choice words for snowboarders on Wednesday morning. One 16 year old boarder killed a woman here in Jackson Hole last Thursday and now faces manslaughter charges. I skied the area where it happened...plenty of sightlines, no excuses.

7 MILE STRETCH.
March 8, 2005 - 09:54
It is a relatively short stretch of road, only 7 miles. It runs from the airport in Baghdad to the city, and the Green Zone where most diplomats, journalists and senior military officials stay. I'll be traveling that road in early April when we broadcast from Baghdad. It is the most dangerous 7 miles in the world, and an Italian journalist who is complaining about being fired upon by U.S. troops guarding that road needs a reality check. CLICK HERE.

DID MCCAIN PULL A FORD?
March 8, 2005 - 09:55
Is Sen. John McCain doing the same thing that Sen. John Ford did? It certainly looks bad, and a full investigation is needed to determine what he got, and when he got it. CLICK HERE.

NASHVILLE GETS TOP TWENTY RANKING.
March 8, 2005 - 09:55
We're number 13! OK, it doesn't sound as cool as "we're number one," but a top twenty ranking for Nashville is still pretty impressive. Granted, it is the top 20 "Meanest" cities, based on a liberal assessment of how we treat the homeless. If we are so mean to them, why are there so many coming to and staying in Nashville? CLICK HERE.

NICE KUDOS FROM MY OLD CAMPUS NEWSPAPER.
March 8, 2005 - 09:56
The U.T. student newspaper picked up the story about the Talkers Magazine selection of Steve Gill Mornings as one of the top talk shows in the country. CLICK HERE.

PISCOPO FOR GOVERNOR?
March 8, 2005 - 09:57
A group of activists are pushing former Saturday Night Live star Joe Piscopo for Governor of New Jersey. He certainly couldn't do worse for New Jersey than the professional politicians in recent years. CLICK HERE.
