BREDESEN PREPARES TO LAYOFF 2000 STATE WORKERS.

I wonder if the state employee's union is rethinking their endorsements of Governor Phil Bredesen in his last two campaigns for Governor? Dontcha just love the way politicians stick with those who brought them to the dance? CLICK HERE. The Governor wants to pay most of the employees to leave, rather than simply laying them off. But if we don't have the money to pay them, how do we have the money to pay them to leave? Of the half BILLION he is trying to trim from the budget, the layoffs will save about $64 million. That means he is looking to cut about $400 million elsewhere. |

Barack Obama plans to declare victory on May 20. That is when he should achieve a majority of the pledged delegates up for grabs in the Democratic Presidential Primary process. He will not have reached a majority of total delegates, regardless of whether you count Michigan and Florida or not, because he is excluding the Super Delegates from his math. Hillary will argue that he is simply declaring "Mission Accomplished," like George Bush did five years ago, and that doesn't mean the fight is over.
