CORKER RECEIVED $2000 FROM SUNDQUIST.
March 9, 2005 - 11:38
Chattanooga Mayor and former Commissioner of Finance and Administration Bob Corker is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Bill Frist. Corker has already raised a couple of million dollars for that race, which will pit him against former Congressmen Van Hilleary and Ed Bryant, among others. But it is a $2000 contribution to Corker that has raised eyebrows. Corker, who served in the Sundquist Administration, was already faced with the challenge of distancing himself from the disgraced former Governor. In December, Corker accepted a contribution of $2000 from Sundquist. Not exactly the way to distance yourself from the income-tax advocating pariah of the Republican Party. That $2000 will probably cost Corker at least a half million dollars to explain it away...if he can. CLICK HERE. |
