Thanks to insecticides like DDT, Malaria was completely wiped out in the U.S. in the early 1950s. But liberal envirowhackos worried about the effects of DDT in thinning the eggshells of some birds, so it was banned worldwide. The mosquitos were thrilled with this decision, and the spread of this mosquito-borne disease causes the death of over a million people a year thanks to liberals willing to protect birds at the expense of people. A million a year. Mostly in Africa. Almost all black. This is the greatest example of liberal-induced genocide in history, yet is ignored by the media. There are some efforts to provide nets for children in the malaria-ravaged areas. The nets are provided in exchange for donations of $10 (though only about 40% of the donated money actually goes to purchasing the nets -- that is a LOT of overhead, including expensive television commercials). Of course, the kids are subject to mosquitos for about 16 hours a day when they are NOT sleeping under the nets.
