BREDESEN WILL BACK ROCHELLE.
August 9, 2006 - 17:56
Governor Phil Bredesen says he is against a state income tax. So did Governor Don Sundquist when he was running for reelection. That's why you have to look beyond the promises of politicians and examine what they have actually DONE not just what they SAY at election time. Governor Bredesen also says he will support former Senator Bob Rochelle in his effort to get back in the State Senate. You remember Rochelle don't you? He was the guy who also said he was against a state income tax the last time he ran for office, back in 1998. Shortly thereafter he became the prime sponsor of legislation for a state income tax and was its most ardent supporter. Now Rochelle says he is against a state income tax, again. Just like Phil. Is there any conceivable reason to believe either one of them? As they say, "birds of a feather..." CLICK HERE.

LIEBERMAN FILES TO RUN AS INDEPENDENT.
August 9, 2006 - 18:02
One day after getting knocked off in the Democrat primary, Joe Lieberman filed papers to run for election to the U.S. Senate as an independent candidate. Can he win? Absolutely. About 44% of the registered voters in Connecticut are registered as independents; about 35% are registered as Democrats, and the remaining 21% are Republicans. Joe will likely keep his seat, and be less beholden to the Democrats than ever. CLICK HERE.

REMEMBER THAT $300 MILLION SURPLUS?
August 9, 2006 - 18:05
Tennessee's budget surplus last year ended up being over $400 million; nearly $100 million more than the Governor's team told us at the end of the legislative session. And they STILL couldn't find a way to cut taxes for hard working Tennesseans, even after overcharging us by $400 MILLION. They COULD have rolled back the sales tax on food by a few cents and even put us on the road to eliminating the sales tax on food completely. But they prefer to take our money, even when we send them more than they expect. CLICK HERE.

3 OF 11 MISSING EGYPTIAN STUDENTS FOUND.
August 9, 2006 - 18:15
The FBI has been looking for 11 Egyptian students who were allowed into this country to study at Montana State University. Three have now been located, one in Minnesota and two in New Jersey. Hmmm, if they are supposed to be in Montana isn't it odd that they turned up in New Jersey? The FBI keeps telling us that the men have no known link to terrorism. Neither did the terrorists on September 11, at least not until that day. Wonder where the other 8 men are? And why hasn't the FBI released their photographs? Are they afraid that they would all be middle eastern, Muslim men in their twenties, just like scores of other terrorists? CLICK HERE.

THIS GUY LOOKS LIKE A LEADER IN THE DARWIN AWARDS THIS YEAR.
August 9, 2006 - 18:19
A man who blew himself up by trying to open a hand-grenade with a sledgehammer would seem to be a leading contender for the Darwin Award this year. Of course, there are a few months left in the year. CLICK HERE.

SHOULD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS PAY THE TAB TO BAILOUT THE BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS?
NO WAY, NO HOW!!!
YES, THE INDUSTRY IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO LET IT FAIL.
IT DEPENDS ON THE TERMS OF THE DEAL. WHAT INTEREST RATE WILL THEY PAY FOR THE CASH? WHAT DO WE GET AS COLLATERAL?
LET'S BAILOUT TWO OF THE THREE AND LET ONE FAIL. THEY SHOULD COMPETE TO BE IN THE TOP TWO BY CUTTING COSTS AND WAGES!
YES, BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE THEM JUST LIKE WE SAVED THE BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, ETC.
NOT SURE.
