METRO TEACHER PAY.
June 30, 2005 - 09:59
We talked a bit yesterday about the metro teacher salary schedule, and a teacher forwarded a link to the actual numbers. The actual "cost" of a teacher to taxpayers is pretty close to the $60,000 plus average I was estimating when you add in retirement, social security, health care benefits, etc. Plus keep in mind that this is for a 10 month annual work schedule. Teachers easily rank in the top third of income earners in the country. Look at the numbers, compare them to what you earn and how many months a year you work, and decide who you think is underpaid.
