STEVE GILL RETURNS TO NEWSRADIO 1510 WLAC
July 31, 2006 - 17:00

(Nashville - July 31, 2006) NewsRadio 1510 WLAC today announced the return of radio talk host and television political analyst Steve Gill.  Gill served as morning co-host on WLAC from April 1998 to December 2000 and returns to launch “The Steve Gill Show” statewide on 15 stations across Tennessee on Saturday, August 12th at 8am Central Time.  “The Steve Gill Show” will add weekdays beginning October 2, 2006 in the 8am to 11am Central Time timeslot.  WLAC will serve as Gill’s statewide Flagship station” for his new program.

Tom English, Regional VP / Market Manager, said, "Adding Steve to our line-up on NewsRadio 1510 WLAC is something we are very excited about.  It gives us Nashville's only local information news/talk programming from 5am (with The Kevin Wall Show) to Rush at 11am.  That's a one, two punch no other station in town can touch."

"I am very excited to return "home" to NewsRadio 1510 WLAC. It is where I got my start in radio and WLAC is the perfect choice for the "Flagship Station" for our statewide broadcasts.” Gill commented.  "Our statewide show will be very similar to what we have always done, offering the best analysis and insight concerning international, national and Tennessee events, conversations with the newsmakers who are making the news, and on-the-spot broadcasts from where they are making that news."

Steve Gill is an attorney and host of the most influential radio talk show in Tennessee. He is also the political and news analyst for WKRN-TV Channel 2 in Nashville.  Talkers Magazine has twice recognized Gill among the “100 Most Important Talk Radio Hosts in America” and Business Tennessee recently named him among the "100 Most Powerful People in Tennessee" for the third straight year. He has received numerous AIR (Achievement in Radio) Awards, including Best Talk Host in Nashville and has twice received recognition as a Hero of the Taxpayers from Americans for Tax Reform for his leadership in opposing a state income tax in Tennessee. The Nashville Scene recently named him Nashville’s “Best Conservative” for the third year in a row.

Gill received both his undergraduate and his law degree from the University of Tennessee, where he played varsity basketball, was President of the Student Body, and served as a Member of the Board of Trustees. In 1992-93 he served as a White House Fellow in both the George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton Administrations.
