Florida declares state of emergency |
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush declared a state of emergency Friday as the state prepared for the arrival of Hurricane Jeanne, potentially the fourth hurricane to strike the Sunshine State this year. Jeanne has already hit Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti where more than 1,100 people died.

Egyptians kidnapped in Iraq |
Six Egyptians who work for a mobile telephone company were kidnapped in two separate incidents in Iraq -- four while at a remote location near the Syrian border and two from the company's Baghdad office late Thursday, said company preisdent Naguib Sawiris.
