Thousands of Israeli troops and police evacuate two Jewish settlements under the nation's historic disengagement plan, the military says. Authorities used force at times in the two West Bank settlements -- Homesh and Sanur. On Monday, Israel completed its withdrawal from 21 settlements in Gaza.

Bush administration officials have disavowed Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson's call for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. His vice president, Vicente Rangel, said Robertson's comments were "criminal."
